We think speaking should be the fastest way to get words down and the easiest way to find them again. Avaan gives you accurate cloud transcription on iPhone and Mac, and Notes that remember what you said. A free local tier on Mac means anyone can start without an account.
What Makes Avaan Different
Avaan is native on both platforms, built with Swift. On Mac it works system-wide: dictate into any app with one keyboard shortcut. On iPhone it records Notes, syncs them to your account, and, if you turn memories on, lets you ask questions across them. AI Modes adapt formatting to context: a polished email in Mail, a casual message in Slack, clean notes in your documents. Pro runs on cloud models for the best accuracy; the free Mac tier transcribes locally, offline.
How We Handle Your Data
Local transcription on Mac stays on your Mac. Cloud transcription sends your audio to speech-to-text providers, which we name on our subprocessors page. Memories and Note audio upload are off until you turn them on. We do not store dictation audio. See our Privacy Policy and Subprocessors for full details.
